What’s up Legend!
Let’s talk about Personal Branding, or better, about your brand story.
Everyone is claiming to build a personal brand. But most of them just share the same lame content like everyone else.
To stick out, your brand needs a story. Your brand story. The story you tell over and over again in 1000 different way’s to “brand” yourself into the consciousness of your audience.
It’s not a PERSONAL brand, if you don’t tell your story.
Today I show you how you can define and tell your unqiue brand story to stick out of the crowd.
You’ll attract like minded people who resonate with your story and your brand.
What Story To Tell?
The Brandstory is about you, and your journey.
But look…
Nobody cares what you’ve eaten for breakfast in the morning. There is nothing valuable for your audience in it.
Yes, the story is about you, but you tell it for THEM. Your audience.
Your job is to craft stories that resonate with your audience and helps them on their journey.
Let’s find out how…
Identify Your Target Audience
To be able to craft the right messages for your brand, you need to know what kind of people you want to reach.
Sit down and imagine your perfect reader, client, follower.
Age (18-60)
Income (Stable income, day job)
Interests (Personal branding, Audience building, Storytelling)
Values (Being authentic, willing to work, here for the long run)
Pain points (Growing on Twitter, storytelling)
Goals (Quit 9-5, successful personal brand)
Wants (Clarity, Followers, Clients)
This will help you to tailor the right content that resonates with your ideal reader.
Identify Your Brand Values
Next step is to identify your brand mission and values.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is my brand about?
What do I stand for?
What is my goal with my brand?
Make sure to align your brand values with your target audience.
(To understand yourself better, write a mission statement for your brand)
Know Your Enemy
Every good story needs an enemy. You want something to fight against, to unite with your audience against this target.
Your enemy can be literally everything.
AI
9-5
Being fat
Algorithm
Whatever it is, identify it and unite your audience against it.
Craft Brand Messages
Alright Legend… You got
Your target audience
Your brand statement/values
Your enemy
Now it’s time to find your brand messages and craft compelling stories.
It’s nothing that happens overnight. You’ll always change and refine your messages and stories.
Pieces of my brand story:
Dad building a personal brand
Escape rat race
Fighting for authenticity
Helping people to tell their story and grow an audience
The “Storypreneur”
Calling people Legends
These are chunks of my story. Chunks that resonate with my audience.
This is why people remember me and my brand. Everyone knows I call people “Legends”.
I can tailor stories around these messages, just by looking at my journey.
Write down your story messages and connect them with real-life experiences, so you can craft valuable stories for your audience.
Here’s a framework that I use all the time:
Stories don’t need to be long.
🔴Hook. (Make a bold statement or ask a question)
🟡Introduce. (Topic or point)
🟢Share. (Share a topic related example)
🔵Conclusion. (Add advice, tip, CTA)
Write killer micro stories for single Tweets with this framework.

Okay Legend, that’s it for this week.
There will be a restructuring of the Newsletter, I’ll probably go for 2 Issues per week. One for the Community, one for Tips on Personal Branding and Storytelling.
It’s just getting too much for 1 Issue.
More to that soon.
Thanks for reading.
Enjoy your week Legend.
Cheers, Marcel.
