You Need A Money-Mindset

Issue 12 - 3 minutes read.

I started my account with this mindset: Give for 2 months without any expectation.

Well, that worked pretty well… and I’m already in month 4.

But just building an engaging audience isn’t my goal and it shouldn’t be yours.

I needed my time to realize, the money doesn’t comes just by growing a personal brand.

Yes, you need an audience. But at some point you need to make a change.

You need to shift from give to get.

That doesn’t mean you should stop giving value through your content.

But you need to change your focus on things that actually make you money.

It means you shift from: “I create content to build my personal brand and grow my audience”

to: “I craft products and services to solve the problems of my audience”

That’s a huge difference.

And the biggest difference is the latter will make you money and move the needle.

Alright, how does that look in action?

Well, my gameplan for the next week looks like this:

  • Hop on as many calls as possible to find out the biggest pain points and struggles of my audience

  • Craft a consultation/coaching offer and/or products to help them solve those problems.

  • Still providing a shit ton of free value but offering a paid coaching and consultation service.

It’s time to get serious at some point, and the time is now. (Actually, I’m pretty late to the party)

Do yourself a favor, and don’t wait too long with that.

Start to think and craft your offer while you grow your audience.

Here are some Tips on how to start:

  • Get clarity about what you want to do. (Ghostwriting, coaching, products, services)

  • Tailor content around that to attract the right audience. (Twitter growth coaching > Write Twitter Tips)

  • Get on calls, interview your audience in the DMs, get as much information as possible about them.

  • Start crafting your offers/products with the information you gathered.

  • Define, improve, and adapt all the time.

As sooner you start, the better your offer will become, the sooner you can charge a shit ton of money for it.

Alright Legend…

Let’s move on with Community stuff.

Legends Community⛩

I feel like, the Legends need new branding.

To be honest I made our current logo in 2 minutes on Canva because we needed one.

That doesn’t reflect the quality of our amazing community.

So let’s make a rebranding contest.

I call out all our legendary designers to make a logo & banner for our community.

Try to make it relatable to our symbol.⛩

The winner will get a huge shoutout on all platforms (Twitter, Discord, Newsletter) and of course, you can say you just made the branding of the Legends community. (Worth putting in your bio)

That’s your chance to give back and make yourself a name as a graphic designer.

Hall of Legends

The next creator who enters the Hall of Legends is Sam Jordan.

Sam is a super supportive dude and killing it with the Legends since day 1.

Go and Rambo his profile. 236 followers are not acceptable for a Legend like him.

Congrats Sam, keep killing it!

Story of The Week

We got great storytellers in the Legends Community and I kinda want to double down on Storytelling in this Newsletter.

So I introduce: The Story Of The Week.

The best way to get featured? Share your story on Discord.

The beginning makes Vince Mao!

Start telling your stories Legend.

Features

You need a landing page? A shop? A place to get all your stuff together?

Then you need Livelogue.

You can build everything under your own branding.

FOR FREE. (Just 3% fees on sales. Only for Legends)

Alessio is building something big here. Forget Gumroad, convertkit, and all the other platforms. You’ll get it all in one on Livelogue.

I’m building my page there right now and it’ll be published soon.

If you need guidance to setup your livelogue, Alessio is glad to help.

Alright Legend. I’ll try to keep it shorter.

Expect more storytelling related content in the future, we’ll go deep down this rabbit hole together.

Keep moving the needle.

Your friend, Marcel “Storypreneuer” Bartels.
